In a unexpected crossover event that defies usual predictions, Ubisoft has announced an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Uncovered
According to the formal announcement, "A strange encounter pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where whispers of forbidden rituals and monstrous metamorphoses reverberate through the obscurity." The storyline presents a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a secret group.
The adventure focuses on "peculiar tests and a monstrous adversary" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Transformations
The preview features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview concludes with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Rewards and Additional Features
Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an exclusive katana together with multiple items hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive arms
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Addition
This patch also adds the game's newest free story episode, titled "The Enigma." This playful mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive abilities: Naoe introduces a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
