Heat and Trail Blazers Earn First Wins Following Player Detentions
The Miami Heat scored 86 opening half points versus the Grizzlies
Miami Heat earned a crushing 146 to 114 win against the Memphis Grizzlies in their initial NBA game after player Rozier was arrested for suspected unlawful gambling.
Trail Blazers head coach Billups was also arrested as part of a broad federal probe into illegal gambling. The two individuals deny the allegations.
However, the Heat were focused as they scored 86 first-half scores to be ahead of the Grizzlies by 39 at halftime, the largest half-time advantage in the team's 37 year history.

"We all had great experiences with Chauncey and how he coached," Tiago remarked. "Our thoughts are with him and his family but our focus is on the game."
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver 'Upset' over Arrests
Addressing the detentions for the first time, NBA commissioner Silver stated he was "deeply disturbed" by the incidents of the recent days.
"Nothing is more critical to the league and supporters than the integrity of the game," he informed a broadcaster. "And so I felt uneasy. It was disturbing."
Silver also mentioned an league probe into the player's actions in March 2023, when there was "aberrational betting" in a game he participated for the Charlotte Hornets against the Pelicans, found nothing untoward.
"We were informed by the authorities and the gambling firms," he continued.
"We investigated that situation and were very transparent regarding it. And while there was the unusual wagering, we, frankly, found no evidence.
"The federal government has legal authority... [it] can threaten to put people in jail, can do all kinds of things that the league office can't do.
"So, we've been cooperating from that point. And, of course, what they announced yesterday was an charge.
"Moreover 30 months after, he has not been found guilty of anything, in justice to Terry.
"Obviously, it appears unfavorable, but he's been suspended, and so it is a balance here between protecting people's rights and investigating."
