Starting on the last day of October at midnight PT, episode two of It: Welcome to Derry will launch on HBO Max, before its linear broadcast. The remaining installments of the series run will continue to air on Sunday nights on HBO and HBO Max, building toward the final episode on December 14th.

Based in the world of King's It, It: Welcome to Derry draws from the classic book while building upon the world established by filmmaker Andy Muschietti in the recent movie adaptations. The first It movie focused on kids and teens confronting unimaginable horrors, making it appropriate that this show upholds that legacy. Yet, the first installment of the streaming show shows it aimed to increase the tension, offering more frightening moments than the movies and creating a dark atmosphere for the rest of the season.

Taking place in the 1960s, the series introduces a fresh cast of parents and youngsters living in a apparently peaceful community hiding a sinister core.
