He additionally honored Michele Reiner, saying: "To say that they were a formidable pair would be an oversimplification. My heart still hurts every time I recall you." He finished with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Friend and Collaborator

In a different essay, revered director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the protagonist.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked seamlessly with everyone, and he understood the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Recently, a Los Angeles court official agreed to prevent the release of the Reiners' autopsy reports, at the request from the Los Angeles Police Department.
