Over a fortnight after the tragic deaths of celebrated filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues are still paying respects to the couple.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he finally felt prepared to post publicly about his personal sorrow.

"Sufficient time has passed that I can now articulate my loss into words," shared Elwes, adding that his initial encounter with Reiner created an instant bond. "When we commenced spending more time together I understood this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor uploaded archival material from the production, commenting that he cannot recall "any day without laughter".

"The movie is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Principles that Rob cherished deeply. That is part of the many reasons he was the ideal person to direct it," Elwes continued.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, saying: "To say that they were a formidable pair would be an oversimplification. My heart still hurts every time I recall you." He finished with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Friend and Collaborator

In a different essay, revered director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the protagonist.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked seamlessly with everyone, and he understood the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Restricted

Recently, a Los Angeles court official agreed to prevent the release of the Reiners' autopsy reports, at the request from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A legal directive placed a embargo on the files to limit the public release of "all case details, evidence and photographs" connected to the ongoing investigation.

The relevant authority had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of murder, with a official listing listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Following the deaths, public individuals offered divergent comments.

Former President Donald Trump commented on the matter, providing divisive claims that were met with immediate backlash by numerous public figures.
